Here are some examples of Accuro improvements that have been implemented directly from user suggestions.
‘No Charge’ Claim Setting
Although Accuro conveniently sets up automatic claims to ensure you never miss a bill, in some cases you may have a provider who doesn’t need to bill for the tasks they’re performing. For those situations, Accuro now lets you configure a provider as ‘No Charge’ so all claims created from their appointments are marked as such. This means more time savings and a tidier Claims tab. Here’s how to make it happen:
- Hit F2, or go to Accuro start menu > Tools > Configure Providers
- Select the desired provider and then “Configure”
- In “Billing Details” or “Billing Options,” check-off “Set new claims to No Charge”
- Click Next until Finish
Physical History (Child) Percentile Calculations
In the past, Accuro rounded to the closest month to generate percentiles for height-age, weight-age, and head circumference-age percentiles for Physical History (Child). This meant less accuracy at a time when growth and change are both happening quickly. Luckily, Accuro has been updated to also support days, making percentile calculations more accurate up to 1856 days, after which it reverts to months. This allows the Clinical Growth Chart (EMR section > Encounter Notes tab > Labs section > right-click Physical History (Child) test > Clinical Growth Chart) to graph more precisely and stay accurate through the patient’s growing years.
Smooth Scrolling in Scheduler
While interval (jump) scrolling was the default setting in Accuro Scheduler for quite some time, users commented that it was time consuming and inconvenient to use. We took your comments to heart, though, and Scheduler’s default has been changed to smooth scrolling. This allows continuous movement down the page using the mouse wheel and creates a (literally) smoother user experience.
For those of you who prefer the old way, smooth scrolling can be turned off by going to the Accuro Start Menu > Scheduler > Scheduler Management > Settings > uncheck “Smooth Scrolling.”
Collapsible/Expandable Medical History Bands
Accuro’s Medical History Bands were once a never-ending story; as lists of patient information grew, a user’s only option was to scroll through all the bands to reach those at the bottom. Enter Ideaspace. Thanks to customer comments on this subject, Accuro was updated so that users can now expand bands they want to see in detail and collapse those they don’t. For added convenience, collapsed bands display the number of hidden items in their ribbon.
Waitlist Column Views
You said you wanted to be able to select specific columns for each different waitlist view, and we listened. Now in Accuro, if a user changes the default headers displayed in a waitlist (Active Requests, Consult, or Surgical), the displayed headings are remembered and retained. When a user switches between views, or logs out and back in again, the headers they selected will still be there.
To select the columns you wish to see in the waitlist, click the Column Picker button located above the scroll on the right-hand side of the window.
Mass Removal of Patient Flags
Sometimes convenience comes in the smallest details. While Accuro allowed users to mass apply patient flags (via a Query Builder report), mass removal wasn’t an option. So when we saw a request for it in Ideaspace, it was a chance for an easy win. Users can now mass remove patient flags in the Query Builder (Alerts) by going to Accuro menu > Reports > Query Builder (Alerts). The right-click menu in Alert Matches now has the option to mass remove patient flags.
Prescriptions with No Start Date
While a prescription Start Date is useful in Accuro, it isn’t always helpful. Take a post-surgical medication that’s prescribed to the patient before their surgery date is firmly fixed: if the surgery date changes after the medication is prescribed, the patient runs the risk of forgetting and taking the medication sooner than they should.
To remedy this, a “No Start Date” checkbox has been added to the Prescription Dosage window. The default start date for prescriptions is today unless this checkbox is selected. ePrescribe users are asked if they would like to have “Accuro continue to default the start date to today’s date?” and this question must be answered before a medication dosage can be added.
